At Energetech, we prioritize innovation, collaboration, and personal growth.
Energetech-Tantel and the Tanzania Petroleum Development Corporation (TPDC) have signed a landmark Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) valued at $100 million, setting a two-year roadmap to develop modular and scalable liquefied natural gas (LNG) infrastructure across Tanzania.
This partnership marks a significant milestone in Tanzania’s journey toward becoming a regional clean energy hub. The initiative is focused on increasing access to clean, cost-effective energy for both industries and households, while also contributing to economic growth and regional leadership in the clean energy transition.
“Together, we’re building more than energy infrastructure — we’re building a more inclusive, sustainable future,” said Energetech CEO, Alistair Naiken.
Key Highlights of the Project
1. $100 million investment in modular LNG infrastructure over two years
2. Initial output of 30 million standard cubic feet per day (scf/day), scaling to 100 million scf/day
3. Job creation and support for local industries through more affordable energy
4. Acceleration of clean energy adoption across East and Southern Africa
5. Positioning Tanzania as a leading clean energy economy in the SADC region
This public-private collaboration sets a new benchmark in regional energy development, providing scalable and innovative solutions to meet Tanzania’s growing demand for sustainable energy.
“A big step forward for Tanzania and the region,” said Naiken. “We’re proud to contribute to a project that will drive job creation, reduce production costs, and fuel long-term economic growth.”
